our Story

In the summer of 2023 Triston and Tatelyn Moore were both working full time demanding jobs and taking on as many hours as they could to prepare for their first- born child, due later that winter. Triston was a regional manager for a commercial general contractor and Tatelyn was a full-time radiation therapist treating cancer patients for 60 hours a week. Triston is a graduate from Texas Tech University with a degree in Construction Engineering and a minor in mathematics and Tatelyn is a graduate from Texas State University with a BS in Radiation Therapy and a minor in business. By 2023, with a child on the way, Triston and Tatelyn had both been at their jobs for many years and were both extremely career driven and motivated to succeed within their respective fields. While they were still working hard and motivated as ever, they could feel that change was in the air as the hot Texas summer faded away into cooler days and the birth of their son was quickly approaching!
Each of them continued working right up until the week after the little one was due, and they finally decided that the hour and a half one-way drive for Tatelyn everyday was just not ideal for an expecting mother at 41 weeks pregnant. With both of them at home for a while and only time to kill as the baby boy took his sweet time to bless them with his arrival, the wheels began to churn and the idea for a new business was born
As so many of you can relate to, when their son was born, all perspectives changed for the growing Moore family. Triston and Tatelyn, while being at home with their newborn baby boy, quickly realized that there is so much more to this crazy life we live than just going to work for 60 hours a week and resting on the weekends just to do it all again. With a successful birth and a happy healthy baby at home, the couple felt blessed beyond belief, and they really started to think about what was important to them and their new little family.
Now, with a week off for paternity leave, and a perfect cold front coming through in the thick of deer season, we all know where Triston spent his early mornings. Out in the woods in a deer stand! While Tatelyn disagreed with the amount of time spent out in the woods, she loved the fresh deer meat, and it is there where Triston formulated the rough idea for Renegade Crawfish Company! As he watched some does out at the feeder while the sun rose over a crisp and frosty morning, the choir of songbirds and a slight breeze began to remind Triston of all the great times he’s had while being outdoors. Only now, all he could think about is wanting to share these moments with their new son. Triston quickly realized that almost all of his fondest moments had been spent doing something outside! Whether it was memories of hunting with his own dad and brothers, smoking a brisket out by the pool, or boiling crawfish in the springtime, Triston acknowledged that almost all of his best memories were spent with family and friends either in the woods, by a BBQ pit or tending to a crawfish boiler! Then, just as quick as an old doe down wind will blow your cover, the idea hit Triston that a business centered around his passion for the outdoors and good times was sure to succeed!

Back at the house, Triston and Tatelyn really started to refine the idea of Renegade Crawfish Company. They realized and understood that just like them, the vast majority of folks out there are working their tail off day in and day out! They appreciated then, as they gazed at their son, that it is not how many hours you get, or what title you carry at work, or even how much money you make, but rather it is the each and every moment that you are able to spend with your loved ones and the memories that you create together that truly matters! They decided that it was these moments that they should focus on.

This is what Renegade Crawfish Company is all about. Working your tail off to get where you want to be, but also remembering how important it is to take the time to enjoy the moments you have with your family and friends. So, we thought, what better way to bring people together and have the best time possible than a good ol fashion crawfish boil! Seriously, think about it! Have you ever had a bad time at a crawfish boil? It doesn’t matter if you’re the CEO of a billion-dollar company or the redneck raisn’ cain out in the field, or perhaps one in the same, you’re still going to get messy eating crawfish, and you’re still going to have fun doing it!
